Explanations in sociology and norms of social scientists. An empirical research of the language in scientific papers

In this talk, we discuss some linguistic questions of a postdoctoral project (led by Judit Gárdos, HUN-REN Centre for Social Sciences). Based on concrete text passages on social scientific explanations and on the norms (often latently) articulated by the authors of journal articles, we discuss how linguistic knowledge can expand the social scientific and NLP-based analyses of narratives of social scientific journal texts.
